The Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) of Haiti is implementing, with the financial support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) a Technological Innovation Program for Agriculture and Agroforestry (PITAG).
This program comprises six applied research sub-programs corresponding to the main cropping systems practiced in Haiti:
- agroforestry with coffee;
- agroforestry with cocoa;
- market gardening (plain and mountains);
- legume-cereal systems;
- sweet potato, cassava, yams and taro;
- rice systems.
For each sub-program, a call for proposals will be launched.
The research proposals presented should include: (i) the development of innovative agricultural techniques to increase agricultural productivity and adaptation to climate change, ii) their dissemination (through scientific publications, field schools, experimental plots) and applied implementation (in the form of technological packages and data sheets) and (iii) the evaluation of their impact in the field.
The attached document is a call for expression of interest, which specifies the conditions of eligibility of consortia wishing to submit a proposal. As stated in this document, foreign research teams are invited to set up consortia with Haitian teams to submit joint proposals (in French).
Deadline: February 8th, 2018
Thanks for your interest and collaboration.
